Jesse’s specialty is clearly conveying the message to the audience. She’s skilled at working to an initial brief, high level researching planning and structuring text and bringing imagination, creativity and the power of story into her work. She can take complex or technical material and write it in language that can be read and understood by ordinary readers. Some of her major writing projects include:

Writing the final Blueprint for Australian Agriculture (after a consultation over 12 months involving some 4000 people).

Researching, writing and editing the booklet Thinking BiGG: mixed farming families tell their stories of biodiversity, in association with Seftons. The BiGG (Biodiversity in Grain & Graze) project won a Banksia Award. 

Researching, editing and writing the booklet Insights into mixed farming in Australia: stories of successes and challenges, in association with Seftons.

Interviewing landcare groups around Australia and writing case studies about made them successful, published as Landcare Making a Difference. The project was commissioned by the then Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. 

Masters of the Climate: As the Principal Investigator on this project with Land & Water Australia, Jesse visited, interviewed and photographed farmers around Australia in a longitudinal study to discover how they dealt with climate variability.
